Residents of Ori-Oke Alala in Makoko area of Yaba Local Government, Lagos have stormed the State House, Ikeja to protest the invasion of their community by armed police officers, which they alleged led to the killing of four people.

The armed police officers were said to have been led by the Chairman, Taskforce on Land Grabber, Mr Jide Bakare.
The protesters were armed with different banners with different anti-government inscriptions on them and called for justice and action from  government on the invasion that led to the death of four persons.
The protesters led by the General Secretary, Ilaje National Alliance Movement, Comrade Alex Omotehinse demanded that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode should immediately set up an independent commission of inquiry to investigate the incident and make recommendations which should be made public.
According to him, since the incident occurred, government had not reached out to the community which to him  showed that the government was involved in the dastardly act.
He said 11 members of the residents were still in the hospital receiving medical care as a result of the injuries from the attack by armed police men who invaded their community.
Omotehinse  added that those who were arrested were paraded as criminals, wondering what crime they commitment considering the case on the land that is in contention is still pending in court.
He stated that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal and the Police disappointed the community by leading a team to harass members of the Ori-Oke on a matter that is still in court.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Benjamin Olabinjo appealed to the protesters, saying that it was not true that the governor had not taken action  as he immediately set up a committee to look into the case.
Olabinjo urged the protesters to be patient because in a couple of days the committee set up by the governor would reach out to the leaders of the community.
