Kaduna CP decorates 32 newly promoted officers

The Police in Kaduna State urged 32 newly promoted officers to make communities safer and sustain public confidence in the force.

The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, Austin Iwar, while decorating newly promoted senior police officers in Kaduna on Monday.

“In every organisation, one of the most effective motivational tools is promotion, which also forms a vital part of the welfare component for an effective, dedicated and productive workforce.

“These categorires of officers promoted today form the essential middle level strategic and operational cadre of the force.

“It is necessary to drive police policy and ensure that police mandate of crime prevention and community safety is delivered to our people,” Iwar said.

He stated that the promotion was timely as the country needed hardworking police officers that would curb insecurity in the country.

“Your elevation comes at a time when the force is faced with diverse challenges occasioned by new crimes and increasing sophistication in crime.

“It is therefore expected that your elevation will bring fresh ideas, skills and impetus to serve our people better,” he said.

The commissioner called on the officers to exhibit courtesy, patience and tolerance in trying situations, and urged them to exhibit integrity while discharging their duties.

“You must exhibit integrity and refuse to allow religion, ethnic, political or personal feelings or other considerations to influence your decision.

“Your attributes should also consist of impartiality, honesty and incorruptibility in discharging your responsibilities,” he stated.

The decorated officers were promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP).
