The announcement was done by the State Party Chairman, Chief Derin Adebiyi at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta.
Derin, in his announcement on behalf of the party faithful noted that the primary was done through a secret ballot system with a total number of 201,620 valid votes.

When asked why the announcement of the result was not done by the National Working Committee, Adebiyi disclosed that the NWC had refused to come for the election for no reason and that because of the committee, the primary was rescheduled from Sunday to Tuesday based on the excuses of printing ballot papers.
