The mother of media mogul Oprah Winfrey, Vernita Lee, has died at age 83.
Vernita passed on Thanksgiving at her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin People reports.
Vernita has already been laid to rest in a private burial. This was confirmed by Oprah’s spokesperson.
