Hon. Ladi Adebutu, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Remo Federal Constituency, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful conduct of the elections so far.

Adebutu, who had cast his vote at about 10:56 am at his Ward 5, Unit 4, Iperu Polling Unit in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun, also said the process had been smooth and peaceful.

“The process is peaceful here, though, we have not been to other places, but the process is going on smoothly here,’’ he said.

The Presiding Officer at the Ward 5, Unit 3 Polling Unit in Iperu, Jesulayomi Osiname, however, said the card readers were not authenticating and that a replacement was underway.

She also said the other materials arrived safely and were intact.

Also at Ward 7, Unit 5, Ogere, voting materials had arrived at about 7:05 am while voting started at exactly 8 am.

There were also personnel of the police and NSCDC.
