Mock Nations Cup Draws Hold Friday

The draws of the Gbagada Mock Nations Cup will hold tomorrow at the Spoon Feeder Rice&  Chicken Restaurants, Gbagada.

Secretary of Gbagada Grassroots Sports Association, Kemac Emina told GSG that at least 60  club proprietors have been invited to attend the draws.

Among the clubs that will take part in the tourney are Larry F.C., Shaggy F.C., Buruj  F.C., Current F.C. and Tosban F.C.

He said that the first round will be played on knock out basis, while 16 teams will  qualify for the group stage.

“After the knock out stage in the first round, we will now go for another draws where 16  teams will be divided into four groups. I expected the first round to be keenly contested  because every club will want to qualify for the group stage,” said Kemac, who announced  that the competition will officially kick off on 12 October at the Gbagada Playground.

Kemac charged all the teams to exhibit spirit of sportsmanship throughout the tourney,  saying that any team that violate the rules and regulations will be sanctioned.

“We are not going to condone any act of indiscipline during the championship. I will only  advice the club owners and coaches to caution their fans. Any club found wanting will be  disqualified,” he said.
