Hawker Gives Birth To Triplets
It was a combination of sadness and joy for a family of hawkers, Mr. Babatunde Omosanya and Mrs. Fatimoh Omosanya, blessed with a set of triplets (boys) last Monday.
As friends and well wishers besieged their 37, Oremeta Street, Ojodu, Lagos, South-West Nigeria to felicitate with them, the couple expressed delight at the safe delivery of the boys but also expressed apprehension at their survival.
The couple wondered how they will be able to feed and maintain three boys from their meagre resources as hawkers.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS at the Junik Clinic and Maternity Centre on Fashakin Street, Akute, Ogun State, where she delivered the triplets, Mrs. Omosanya expressed the family’s joy and fears.
She said: “We could not buy any of the materials needed for delivery because we were very poor. I was happy when four days before delivery I was informed that three kids were in my womb but my fear is how do we take care of the triplets?
“I sell water and juice at the motor park while my husband sells sausages, gala in the traffic. I am appealing to all Nigerians to assist us with any amount of money or materials.â€
Father of the triplets, Babatunde Omosanya, 30, a 2003 school certificate holder from Ogba Grammar School, Lagos said he met his wife at the motor park where both of them are hawkers.
He said he never dreamt of having triplets and called on Nigerians to assist his family.
The chief matron of the clinic where the boys were delivered, Mrs. Juliana A. Adeleke, described the birth of the triplets as miraculous, adding that the couple approached the clinic because of the doctors strike in government hospitals.
Mrs. Adeleke confirmed that the family has N40,000 to balance the clinic apart from the drugs and other materials supplied to them free of charge.
