Fegalo Nsuke, MOSOP President

The attention of the Council of Ogoni Professionals (COP International, USA) has been drawn to a letter dated March 19, 2020, addressed to the Chairman of MOSOP USA’s Caretaker Committee and signed by one Bari-ala Kpalap.

The said letter has a litany of misinformation and falsehood targeted at members of our noble organization, including Mr Anslem D. John-Miller and Mr Victor B. Wifa, current Executive Chairman and former Coordinator, respectively.

COP Intl. USA, is therefore compelled to set the record straight for the sake of the public and posterity, and wish to state unequivocally as follows:

• That any assault on our members while on COP’s official assignment is an attack on our organization. We, therefore, condemn and repudiate the name-calling and attack on our members who represented Ogoni during the last UNPO meeting in which Mr. Fegalo Nsuke and Dr. Anderson Ngbobu, MOSOP President and MOSOP-USA Caretaker Chairman respectively, were also in attendance.

• That we reaffirm COP International, USA’s support and continuous commitment to Mr. Fegalo Nsuke led MOSOP. Our position is based on his verifiable electoral victory, integrity, proven work record for Ogoni, vision for Ogoni and MOSOP, and willingness to work with meaningful Ogonis and organizations whose tenets are in sync with MOSOP’s ideology. Mr. Nsuke is the authentic president of MOSOP. Anyone else who claims to be the president of MOSOP is a fraud and should be treated accordingly.

• That we are grateful to the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) for their continuous support for Ogoni and other minorities around the world. We are equally thankful to them for recognizing and working with Mr. Nsuke as the MOSOP President.

• We appeal to UNPO to disregard the embarrassing and fraudulent letter signed by one Mr. Bari-ala Kpalap and the information therein. We regret any inconveniences the letter may have caused the organization.

• That a Communique jointly signed by The National Union of Ogoni Students International (NOUS INTL, USA) and Ogoni Lives Matter, International (OLM INTL, USA), dated January 13, 2019, stated that Mr. Pyagbara’s presidency expired on December 31, 2018.

• That MOSOP USA also in its November 10th, 2019 Communique declared that Mr. Pyagbara’s tenure as MOSOP President expired on December 31, 2018 and warned him from parading himself as MOSOP President. Any leadership or group that emanated from Pyagbara’s expired leadership is tantamount to illegality; hence, he does not have the authority to produce authentic MOSOP leadership.

• Furthermore, a leadership set-up by those who betrayed Ken Saro-Wiwa, hate his name even in death and would do anything to kill his dream cannot stand and will be rejected by Ogoni, home and abroad.

• We call on Ogoni people at home and in the Diaspora to support Mr. Fegalo Nsuke led MOSOP.
