Massive Voter Turnout For Delta Gov. Rerun
There was massive voter turnout for the Delta State governorship election rerun held today.
The election was peaceful as no incident of violence was recorded in any part of the state.
Accreditation of voters started at 9a.m. and the entire exercise was conducted peacefully and concluded at about 12 noon.
Voting also went peacefully though there were a few cases of people who could not find their names in the voters’ register.
In a polling unit in Sapele there was a mild peaceful protest by voters who were disallowed from voting.
In towns like Agbor, Sapele and Abraka, counting of votes and collation of results were ongoing.
Unauthorised persons were not allowed entry into INEC headquarters in Asaba which was heavily guarded. Journalists who arrived late to monitor the election were not allowed entry. The results were being collated about now.
