Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, said it is poised to increase its testing capacity for coronavirus.
This followed its adoption of COBAS System on Tuesday..
“Today, we began the use of the COBAS system at the NCDC National Reference Laboratory, for #COVID19 testing.”, NCDC said on Twitter.
“Using this, approximately 960 samples can be tested in 8 hours.
“This begins the 2nd prong of our national strategy to integrate lab systems & increase testing capacity”, it added.
The agency lauded many international organisations for making the activation of the technology possible.
It also said it would expand the use of the technology to two more labs, within 30 days.
