Mosque Minaret Tragedy: Mad Woman Pushes Rescuer To Death
Tragedy struck at Odo-Olowu Street, Ijesha, Lagos this morning as a woman suspected to be mentally deranged pushed a man down from a three-storey mosque minaret.
The man known as Innocent, died on the spot.
The deceased wanted to give a helping hand to the woman identified as Remilekun Ayanlowo, a mother of three, when the incident occurred.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Remilekun had climbed the minaret and in a bid to rescue her, she pushed Innocent, who fell and died on the spot.
Nobody could explain why she climbed the minaret and refused to come down in spite of all entreaties.
The case has been reported at the Ijesha Police Station, Ijesha-Tedo, Lagos.
Confirming the incident to P.M.NEWS, the DPO of Ijesha Police Station said the father of Remilekun has been arrested and his men are currently interrogating him.
Investigation revealed that the deranged woman was brought down by fire brigade personnel and was taken to Ijesha market.
The husband has two wives. It was gathered that the deranged woman resides at No. 5, Jimoh Agunbiade Street, Ijesha, Lagos.
