Following the kidnap of his wife, Stella-Maris and son, Emmanuel Mandela Okafor in  Enugu State early this month, popular comic actor, John Okafor, otherwise known as  Mr. Ibu, has beefed up security around his family.
Stella-Maris and her one-year-old son spent two weeks in their abductors’ custody,  and since their release, they have been more security conscious.
A source close to Okafor revealed that at the moment, he has to some extent,  restrained the movement of his wife and if she must go out, they must be  accompanied.
NollywoodReel gathered that the actor is also wondering why the kidnappers have been  after him. Sometime in 2007, he was kidnapped on his way to a movie location in Imo  State.
It was further gathered that he has also limited the number of people that visit him  in his Lagos residence, all because of being security conscious.
He, however, expressed appreciation to those that stood by him during a time which  he described as the most challenging in his life.
“You know that at times, when you don’t have problems, you won’t know how much  people like you. I can proudly tell you that people really like me. The love and  concern shown by Nigerians during that period was an evidence of that. I can’t sop  thanking them,†he said.
