Ezeji, Ajani Top Scorers’ Chart

It was a sweet weekend for the duo of Victor Ezeji and Ibrahim Ajani as both Premier League stars scored twice for their respective teams to increase their goals haul to five as joint-top scorers.

Both players were on three goals each before match day 14 matches were concluded, while others like Ukeyima Akombo (Sunshine Stars), Fred Okwara (Rangers), Gambo Mohammed (Kano Pillars) Raheem Owolabi, Gbolahan Salami (3SC) Ekigho Ehiosun (Warri Wolves) Abdulrahman Bashir (Bukola Babes), as well as the Kaduna United duo of Jude Anieke and Siman Yusuf were ahead on four goals.

However, Ezeji hit the five-goal mark on Saturday before Ajani, who joined him at the zenith on Sunday.

Pillars’ Mohammed was the only player who was missing over the weekend as he was away in Liberia with his team for a CAF Champions League encounter.

Ezeji remains the most experienced amongst the pack. He was joint-top scorer with Joetex Frimpong during the 2002 season when they scored 16 goals each.

“A player must be calculative and understand how to position himself properly to be a consistent scorer,” the Super Eagles star told SuperSport.com.
