Two Arrested Over Handset Theft
Two men who specialise in breaking into people’s shops at Abule Egba have been arrested.
The suspects, Balogun Samuel, 17 and Ogunjobi Segun, 16, P.M.NEWS gathered, broke into Elite Laundry and Dry Cleaning Services shop along Charity Road, Abule Egba and stole the sum of N50 and one Hitel cell phone belonging to the attendant.
According to the complainant, Mrs. Aishat, “the suspects came into the shop and pretended to be customers. While I was attending to one, the other made away with the phone and N50. So, I raised alarm which attracted passersby and they were chased and arrested by some OPC men in the area and were then handed over to the police at Oko-Oba Police Station.
Items recovered from them at the time of arrest include one Hitel cell phone and N50.
When P.M.NEWS visited the police station, the two suspects were seen behind the counter and efforts to reach the divisional police officer in charge of Oko-Oba, Mr. Omole Ola, a superintendent of police, were not successful as he was said to have gone out on routine patrol.
