Husband Attempts To Kill Wife Over Property

A 42-year old man, Bolarinwa Olomi, has been arraigned before the Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos for  attempting to kill his wife, Abigail, over her property.

Bolarinwa was alleged to have grabbed Abigail on the neck, beat and attempted to strangle her before  she was rescued by neighbours at Ejigbo Road, Orisumbare, Egbeda, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Bolarinwa married Abigail some years ago and has been demanding for the  documents of the house built by Abigail without telling her what he wanted to do with them.

When she refused to grant his request, he started threatening her and asked her to leave the house.  Her refusal to leave the house, the police alleged, led to an attempt to strangle her by the accused.

The matter was reported at the Shasha Police Station and he was arrested and charged before the Ejigbo  Magistrate’s Court on a two-count charge for assault and attempted murder, offence contrary to Section  86 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003. He pleaded not guilty  to the charges and the magistrate, Mrs. M.B. Folami granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one  surety who must be a blood relation.
