Group Praises ACN, Tinubu Over Party Primaries
A group known as the “Synergy Group†in Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area of Lagos has commended the former Governor of the state, Bola Tinubu, and other leaders of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for giving the House of Representatives ticket to Lagos lawmaker, Babatunde Adewale.
This means that if he eventually wins the April election, Hon. Adewale, who is still a lawmaker representing Apapa 2 Constituency at the state House of Assembly, would move to Abuja for a bigger task of representing the people of his constituency.
At a press conference in Lagos recently, Fatai Alabi, leader of the group, stated that the news of Adewale being given the ticket to vie for the House of Representatives came as a surprise to the whole people Apapa.
According to him, “We were happy when the leadership of the party in our area here broke the news to us. First, it was like a dream because Adewale never aspired for the position and as God would have it, he got the ticket on a platter of gold.
“We won’t be doing any good if we keep quiet and do not appreciate the leadership of the party. Before now, Adewale’s intention was to return to the House of Assembly for a second term, but after the primaries, the news came that he should go to the House of Representatiives instead.
“To us in the Synergy Group, it is a honour well deserved because Adewale has represented us well at the state House of Assembly.
He is a true representative of the people; he operates an open door policy and I personally think that is one of the things that earned him this ticket. “Now that he has been given the ticket to the National Assembly, we believe that more dividends of democracy will come from Abuja to Apapa.
“We might not have the opportunity of seeing him regularly like it used to be, but we are certain that whenever he comes around to Lagos, he will definitely attend to all our needs.
“We thank Asiwaju Tinubu and other leaders of our party for giving us this rare opportunity and we can assure that our man will get to Abuja and be a good ambassador of the Apapa and the partyâ€, Alabi added.
