Burglar Arrested

A suspected burglar, Stephen John, 27 has been arrested by the police at Agbado, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria for entering a three-bedroom flat at Ijoko and stealing valuables while the occupants had gone to the church.

The suspect, P.M.NEWS investigations revealed, went into the three-bedroom flat on Adero Yeke Street, Oposuru Bus Stop, after climbing the fence. The occupants, it was learnt, had gone to worship at the nearby Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Ijoko branch, Ogun State, when the suspect came.

During interrogation, he allegedly told the police that he was a member of a gang which attacks homes of Ijoko residents after they have gone out.

”Our mode of operation is to go from house to house when these people are in church. We usually jump over the fence and enter the houses to steal. We have been doing it for the past two years.

“The day I was arrested, I did not know that the children of the owner of the house will come back on time. When I saw them, I quickly jumped over the fence and fell on a chicken cage. The noise attracted the security men in the area and I was arrested,” he allegedly told the police.

The suspect is being detained.
