All Africa Games: Federation Calls 70 Karatekas For Trials
Karate Federation of Nigeria, KFN, has called 70 Karatekas for trials ahead of the All Africa Games scheduled to hold in Mozambique later in the year.
The trials will hold from 24 to 27 February at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Technical Director of the federation, Dave Jegede, confirmed to P.M.Sports that the federation selected the invited karatekas for trials based on their past performances in previous events.
“The trials will be tough because all the invited Karatekas will give their best in order to be selected for the final camping. 32 karatekas will be selected for the final camping ahead of Nigeria’s participation at the All Africa Games,â€he said.
One of the invited karatekas, Yahaya Adamu, told P.M.Sports that he is ready to give his best, asserting that he will not only be selected but make the final list for the All Africa Games. With his wealth of experience, Adamu said he is not afraid of any karatekas during the screening exercise that will last for four days in Lagos State.
Secretary of the federation, Clement Iyaluegbeghe, charged all the invited Karatekas to give their best and avoid any banned drugs that may dent their career throughout the trials.
