Amaechi, 2 Govs Wins 2010 Zik Prize
Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s of Rivers State, has won the prestigious 2010 Zik Prize for Good Governance for based on his performance in the implementation of credible governance principles.
The Prize, which was instituted in 1994 by the Public Policy Research and Analysis centre to encourage patriotic leadership in Nigeria, is to be bestowed on the Rivers State Governor for his ability to attract a B+/AA Fitch investment rating to the state, boost economic and structural development as well as enhance content development in all sectors of Rivers State.
Also to be honoured on Thursday are Governors Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State, and Sule Lamido of Jigawa State.
Others are the President of Sao Tome & Principe, Fradique de Menezes, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) Prof. Julius Okojie.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Ifueko Omo Okauru and Subomi Balogun of FCMB are also to be honoured.
The Zik Prize is part of the yearly activities to honour the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the First President & Commander-In-Chief of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
