Day Old Baby Abandoned At Kaduna Trade Fair Ground
A new born baby was found at the entrance of the main gate of Kaduna Trade Fair Complex today.
The baby wrapped in a towel was kept inside a culvert near the main entrance leading to the fair ground by an unidentified mother.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the baby identified as a boy was abandoned at about 12 p.m. today possibly by one of the visitors at the trade complex.
However, the man who found the baby, Mallam Mohammed Mohammed told P.M.NEWS that he suspected the baby must have been abandoned by one of the young girls or indigent mothers for anyone to pick out of frustration and fear of motherhood.
Mohammed narrated, “I saw traces of blood around the place so I quickly called the attention of the policemen around and together we brought the baby to the trade fair medical centre.â€
Dr. Umar Mohammed, the medical doctor in charge of the trade fair centre who confirmed that the baby was truly abandoned explained that the baby boy must have been given birth to perhaps two to three hours before the baby was brought in to fair ground.
Though he said he was in good condition when he received him, he fears complications. He gave assurance that every necessary examination will be conducted before the baby will be handed over to the relevant authority.
