Pillars Eye Amankwei

Kano Pillars’ new Technical Adviser, Isa Ladan Bosso, has identified JUTH’s Ghanaian forward, James Amankwei, as his first transfer target during the traditional mid-season break in Nigeria.

The Premier League observed the January transfer window after the pre-season transfer and clubs are expected to go on another shopping spree at the half way mark by Week 19.

Appointed by the Kano aristocrats as replacement for Salisu Yusuf on the eve of the Orange CAF Champions League preliminary match at Mighty Barolle, Bosso is desperate to boost his squad ahead of tough assignments.

Pillars are competing in two domestic competitions: the NPL and Federation Cup, as well as the Champions League, which require a highly competitive squad.

SuperSport.com learnt that Bosso has been a longtime admirer of the Ghanaian, who is one of the leading scorers in the league with five goals.

“Bosso tried to get him to Tornadoes on the eve of the present campaign and is even more determined to offer Amankwei continental exposure through the CAF Champions League” a source close to the Ghanaian revealed to SuperSport.com.
