2 Suspected Fraudsters Arraigned
Two suspected fraudsters, Idayat Okedeji, and Amos Aremu were on Tuesday arraigned for allegedly defrauding their victim of N190, 000 under false pretence.
Okedeji, 50; and Aremu, 41; are standing trial before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and fraud.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Reta Momah told the Court that the accused and one other at large, on Jan. 30, 2011, conspired and defrauded their victim, one Mr. Adedeji Adeosun.
Momah said that the accused obtained the sum of N190,000, having falsely represented themselves as estate agent and landlord respectively, of No. 17 Kayode St., Onipanu, Lagos.
She said that the accused thereby committed an offence which contravened Sections 419 and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State Nigeria.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Olumide Fusika, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 each and adjourned the case till March 10, for further hearing.
