Drama As Accused Collapses In Court

There was confusion at the Isolo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, when an accused collapsed in the courtroom after the magistrate ordered his detention at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prisons, Apapa, Lagos.

The accused, Dada Ademusere collapsed when he saw a prison pick-up van waiting to take him to the prison. Foam was already coming out of his mouth when he was rushed to the Isolo General Hospital, Lagos.

There was confusion between the court officials and the prison warders who abandoned him, claiming that they cannot take a dead body to the prison.

It took the intervention of those present in court to rush him to the hospital where he was revived.

Dada, a tricycle operator, was charged to court by the police for alleged dangerous driving after he injured Pa Joseph Kadiri at Mushin, Lagos.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Dada used his tricycle with registration number QV 334 EPE to hit Pa Kadiri and broke his leg.

Efforts to settle the matter between the parties was not successful because Dada could not pay the medical bill of the injured old man.

He was charged to court for dangerous driving under Sections 27 and 28 of the Road Traffic Act, Laws of Lagos State.

Though he pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail by the presiding magistrate, Mr. W.A.O. Meigbope, he could not perfect the bail conditions and the court ordered that he should be remanded in prison custody pending his fulfilment of the conditions.

But on sighting the Black Maria, he collapsed.
