Gov Yakowa Shuns Election Debate
Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa today shunned the Kaduna election debate organized by the African Independent Television (AIT).

Also absent at the AIT debate held at Gamji Multi Purpose hall are candidates of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Sani Sha’aban, Nigeria Advance Party,NAP Yusuf Abubakar Sadqiq.
Yakowa was highly expected by the organizers, but his absence created some trepidation among his supporters and anger among members of the opposition parties. Reacting on the governor’s absence, Balarabe Musa told P.M.News that Yakowa did not attend the debate because he is bereft of ideas.
However, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Rueben Buhari in a telephone interview told P.M.News that the governor’’ s absence was not deliberate. According to him, Yakowa was at Igabi local government area for campaign while the debate was on  and that the organizers were adequately informed earlier.
Meanwhile , candidates present were Balarabe Musa of Peoples Redemption Party, All Nigerian Peoples Party Senator Muktar Aruwa, All Progressive Grand Alliance, Mohammed Sagir Madoya and Mr. Jimmy Dung of National Transformation Party. Others in attendance were Barrister Bello Mohammed of Labour Party, Haruna Sa’eed of Congress for Progressive Change, Bala Mohammed of African Democratic Congress and Abdul Ahmed Ishak of Social Democratic Mega Party.
