Group Refutes Threat To Life Allegation
The threat to life allegation made by Mr. Kazeem Omolaja, a member of Action Congress of Nigeria, Mainland Local Government Area, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria has been refuted by Mainland Progressive Forum, a socio-political group in the state.
Omolaja recently said on the pages of some newspapers (not P.M.NEWS) that some leaders of the party were threatening to kill him before the coming elections.
The group in a letter signed by Comrade Akinola Ademola, chairman of the forum, stated that “while we are tempted to ignore the allegation as mere “ranting , we could not, because we as members of this group, which is a broad-based organisation within the Action Congress of Nigeria in Yaba, LCDA and Mainland LGA”.
“The group has been involved in political issues, especially election and campaign matters since the days of Alliance for Democracy with zeal to always seek for the overall interest of the party.”
The group called on the leadership of the party in the state to call Omolaja to order and advised him to refrain from what it called “unnecessary, diversionary and ill-timed propaganda.
The group also warned Omolaja to desist from any acts capable of causing disaffection among party members, which could cost the party much in the coming election and urged him to strive to reconcile with whoever he may have offended.
