Billionaire Jimoh Ibrahim Vows to Smash Nigerian Governor
There was serious drama at the Akure International Airport on Wednesday as billionaire businessman and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim vowed to burn down Ondo State and make it ungovernable for the State Governor in weeks to come.

It all started when the State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko was at the Airport to be airlifted by a chopper for the campaign tour of Okitipupa and Ilaje local government areas of the State ahead of Saturday’s election. At the tarmac was the private jet of Ibrahim, with Ibrahim leading 10 people out of the flight including Ambassador Olu Agbi and some members of the National Assembly, representing the People’s Democratic Party. Mimiko belongs to Labour Party and had taken over the governance of the state from the PDP two years ago.
Governor Mimiko promptly moved to the group and exchanged pleasantries with them but Mr Ibrahim refused to shake hands with the Governor, according to the state government’s version of the encounter.
“Look, am not interested in your greetings, I will ensure that we burn Ondo State down and burn you with it. Yes, you may be the Governor, but we may not be able to milk the cow but we can spill the milk. I said my own and I will deal with you and your bunch of rabble rousers. Yes, I will make this State ungovernable for you; just wait,†Ibrahim was quoted to have said to a bewildered Mimiko.
A surprised Governor Mimiko quietly entered his flight and headed for his destination while Jiomoh ibrahim hissed and went back into his jet in a huff.
The State Governemt in its reaction to the show of shame by Ibrahim stated that the outburst did not come as a surprise because Mr. Ibrahim has been fanning the embers of war, violence and discord in the State of recent.
The state government called on the Presidency to take note of the statements made by Mr. Ibrahim saying that if any violence occurred during the elections, Mr Ibrahim and his co-travelers in the State PDP should be held responsible.
A Statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Mimiko, Mr. Kolawole Olabisi disclosed that the case had been reported to the appropriate authorities.
