Group Declares For PDP In Ifako-Ijaiye
The Dynamic Group, a social organisation in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area has formally declared their support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the forthcoming April polls.
Their formal declaration was held at the residence of Hon. Femi Onimole, a former member of the House of Representatives on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, between 1999 and 2003.
Speaking with Political Platform, the ex-lawmaker said that their joining the PDP will go a long way in boosting the chances of the party in the area.
He said: “From what their leader said, they are members of a social group but among them, we have formal PDP members, majority of them are ACN members from what they have said, they feel oppressed that they have not felt the presence of government in Ifako-Ijaiye.
“Some people were saying the state government is doing this, it’s doing that. Well, maybe it started well in 2007, we see some roads that were constructed not in rural areas of Lagos State. May be in one or two local governments in the urban areas. But after two years, nothing else has taken place in Lagos State.”
“You all heard the trouble within the ACN where people were saying lets probe this, lets probe that. I don’t want to go into all that but in Ifako-Ijaiye, we have not really felt the effect of governance. The only road the government did in this local government was started in 2007 and till today, it has not been completed and that is Agege-Iju Road,†he said.
He said Lagos State is an urban state, adding that it is quite unfortunate that the citizens are living as if they are in rural area.
