Participate Fully In The Elections, Group Urges Christians

Christians in the country have been urged to go out and participate in the coming elections so that they will be able to elect the leaders of their choice.

The call was made by a Christian group, Patriotic Christian Leaders Forum (PCLF), while commenting on the state of the nation recently.

Reverend (Mrs.) A. Yetunde Akintoye-Buraimoh, the national president of the group, said it is necessary for Christians to be fully involved in the political restructuring currently going on in the country.

She added that Christians have stayed out of politics for long and it is now a time for them to take their rightful position in deciding the political future of the country if they want things to go the way they want politically.

She called on them to go out en masse to vote on election days and ensure that their votes are protected.

Pastor Lekan Odejimi, the secretary, said although the group is not partisan, it was formed to foster unity among Christians, irrespective of their denominations and leaders, to serve as a mouthpiece and also promote good governance through the words of God.

He stressed that such would enable Christians to contribute their quota to the political development of the country.
