3 Men In Court Over Assault

Three accused persons, Badruk Razaq, Olabode Abdulazeez and Aileru Jalil, all of Aso Estate at Lugbe in the FCT were on Monday arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court for assaulting one Benedict Christopher.

The men were charged with assault, joint act, criminal trespass and mischief, contrary to sections 79, 648, 326 and 265 of the Penal Code.

The Police Prosecutor, Paul Anigbo, told the court that Christopher complained at the Lugbe Police Station that the accused persons assaulted him in his house at A8 Wisdom Estate, Lugbe .

According to Anigbo, the accused persons forcefully entered Christopher’s house, dragged him around his sitting room, damaged his LG home theatre, CD plates and handset, all valued at N101,000.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Bashir Alkali, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each and adjourned the case to May 3, for further hearing.
