Mr. Akapo Ibikunle, Chairman of the Residents’ Association of the estate, said his members are often waylaid and harassed by some youths, who dispossess them of their valuables as soon is seven o’clock in the evening, adding that some of the women attacked are also raped.

Ibikunle appealed to government, to provide street light as part of security measures in the estate.

He stressed that the association, as part of its security measures, approved the setting up of shops beside the road from so that light put on in those shops would illuminate the roads.

Another resident, Mr. Tajudeen Okusaga, spoke on the flood ravaging the estate whenever it rains, stated that there is the need to construct drainage channels to checkmate the problem.

“During the period, children miss school while adults, including the females, have to fold their trousers or wrappers to wade through the flood,” he stated, adding that the drainage in the estate leads to nowhere, while water from nearby Army Barracks also flows into the estate.
