Advert Agent Seeks To Divorce Hubby

A housewife and advertising practitioner, Mrs. Deborah Abosede Ogungbile has asked an Ogun State High Court, sitting in Ota, to dissolve the marriage between her and her estranged husband, Mr. Peter Tunde Ogungbile, due to irreconciliable differences.

In her petition filed before the court, Deborah who resides at 45, Adeshile Street, Mushin, Lagos said she was seeking the dissolution of the marriage because her husband refused to consumate the marriage contracted on 28 January, 2010 at the Surulere Marriage Registry in Lagos.

She also accused her husband of beating her always and turning her into his punching bag.

She disclosed further that the respondent violently threw her out of her matrimonial home after beating her.

“Since the marriage, the respondent has acted in very fetish and diabolical manner like eating with his left hand and entering the house first with his left leg as well as performing rituals around the house,” she added.

She stated that the marriage has broken down irretrievably and the best thing is to dissolve it.

In his response to the petition, the respondent described the petitioner as a pathological liar and expressed disappointment in her.

He disclosed that it was the petitioner who packed her belongings out of the matrimonial home without any fight.

He also accused her of carrying out an abortion without his knowledge and asked the court to discountenance all she stated.

After listening to the parties, the court urged them to maintain the peace and adjourned the matter.
