De Bryune, Foden out of Manchester City squad for Community Shield

Striker Phil Foden and midfielder Kevin De Bruyne are out of Manchester City squad for the Community Shield match against Leicester today.

The two players are facing spells on the sideline, after returning to the club with injuries during Euro 2020, Pep Guardiola revealed.

“Kevin still is out as well. I think he will come back a little bit sooner than Phil, apparently. But both are still out for a long time, for a while, ” he said.

The Spaniard tactician also revealed that he only has half of his squad for the Community Shield clash as England players are to resume training this week.

The Community Shield match comes ahead of every new footballing season in England.

Premier League winners are to face winners of the FA Cup during the last season.

After today’s match at Wembley at 5pm, the new Premier League season will begin next week.
