Wives Of Slain DPO Weep

The three wives of the slain Divisional Police Officer attached to Alakuko Police Division have opened up to scores of symphatisers who besieged the residence on 1, Olopa Joe Street, Satellite Town, Lagos that they have lost a breadwinner.
CSP Joseph Olatomokun was on Saturday evening killed in a gun battle with armed robbers along Saka Street, Ajegunle, near Gateway Hotel, Lagos State.
He left behind three wives, Mrs. Iyabode Olatomokun, Mrs. Omolola Olatomokun, a woman sergeant and another one who has just put to bed.
Speaking in tears, one of the women said: “We have lost a breadwinner, nobody can fill the vaccuum his death has created. He was a caring husband and father to all his children, brothers and family members. How are we going to take care of all these children now? We are not trained to beg but by God’s grace we shall overcome.â€
The late CSP Olatomokun, was born in 1960 to a royal family in Aisegba-Ekiti, Ekiti State and was enlisted into the Police Force as a Cadet Inspector in 1982. His children include: Bamidele who is based in Malaysia, Funmi in the UK, Banji, Yinka, Arinola, and Doyin.
The commissioner of police in Lagos State, Mr. Sulaimon Abba in a condolence register opened at Alakuko Police Station, wrote: “Rest in Peace, my dear colleague CSP Joseph Olatomokun. They are cowards and then could not face you but, we will continue with the noble cause of fighting crime to a standstill and keeping these bad boys off our streets and our society.
