Soyinka Greets Ogun People, Bye To Danni Elebo
Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka this morning bade farewell to outgoing governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel whom he described as a juju man.

Addressing a press conference at his Victoria Island, Lagos residence, Soyinka congratulated the people of Ogun State for finally waking up from their slumber and taking their destiny in their hands.
According to Soyinka, right from his first day in office, Daniel had fooled every indigene of Ogun including himself.
He said while in government, Daniel remained as crude as his political godfather, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
In a letter he addressed to the people of Ogun, the Nobel laureate said: “At long last, you have redeemed yourselves from the docility in accepting the House of Assembly in Ogun State should be shut down completely. When we wanted to redeem the image and character from Danni Elebo, he sent thugs after us. I congratulate the people even though the signal of remaining docile when the state House of Assembly was shut down is still there. I thank them for not making me sell my house in Abeokuta or relocating somewhere else which I would have done.
“It is time to chase the fetish criminals who have cases to answer like that of the killing of Dipo Dina. Bye bye, Danni Elebo.â€
While congratulating the newly elected governor and members of the state House of Assembly, Soyinka tasked them to restore the glory of the state which he said is the gateway to the nation’s democracy.
He also condemned the killings in the Northern part of the country, accusing some influential people whose names he did not mention.
Soyinka opined that the riots that took place after the presidential election result was announced was pre-planned before the election and that those who took part in it were actually misinformed because judging from the results he obtained from ‘Reclaimed Naija’, the election was free and fair and President Jonathan actually won.
He, however, said Nigeria was facing a lot of challenges, adding that Jonathan should start working immediately.
“This is not a matter of good luck, he has no option but to tackle the problem head-on, not piece meal here, piece meal there,†Soyinka said.
He declared that the nation has failed in its responsibility of protecting corps members.
Soyinka said if he had children who were in the age of service and who are posted to the Northern part of the country, he would not allow them go there.
This, according to him, means that Nigeria has become a failed state.
