Ex-governor Dariye, Lar, Dantong Win Plateau Senatorial Elections

The former Governor of Plateaus State, Chief Joshua Dariye of Labour Party, former House of Representatives member, Victor Lar and the current Senator Representing northern senatorial zone, Senator Gyang Dantong won the April 26 senatorial seats elections in Plateau State.

The People’s Democartic Party, PDP won two seats while labour party won a seat .

Dariye,who defected from PDP in January this year to vie under the platform of Labour party won the Jos South senatorial constituency with 189,014 votes. He beat his closest rival, Damuda Tsallatu Gowon of PDP who got 160,106 votes. And Mbalamut Gambo Adamu came third with 7,902 votes.

The Jos South Senatorial seat saw Victor Lar of People’s Democratic Party, PDP emerging winner of the elections. Lar polled 132,768 to beat General Jeremiah Useni retd.of Democratic People’s Party, DPP who scored 97,846 votes . The current Senator representing the Jos South Constituency, Senator John Shagaya came third with 72, 534 votes.

While Senator Gyang Dantong in the Jos North Senatorial elections got 360,230 votes to emerge as winner . Bala Bako of APGA came second with 164,399 votes and Lumumba Dah Adeh came third with 71,167 votes .
