Makarfi Loses Senatorial Election

Ex Kaduna Governor and current People’s Democratic Party, PDP Senator representing Kaduna North Senatorial District , Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi has lost his re-election into the senate.

Makarfi lost to former House of Representatives member, Datti Baba Ahmed of Congress for Progressive Change,CPC in a tight election.

Datti who won the postponed Kaduna North senatorial election polled 366,398 votes, while Makarfi got 365,048 votes.

The returning officer, Fidelis Tise, who announced the results officially yesterday returned Datti as the official winner of the Kaduna North senatorial constituency.

By this result, CPC have won two senatorial seats in the state, which are Kaduna Central and Kaduna North, while PDP was able to capture only the Kaduna South senatorial seat .
