Bandits storm Niger, abduct ruler of Borgu kingdom

They stormed the community in their numbers on motorcycles and picked the monarch in front of his wife.
The state Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident; adding that the Police were already on the bandits’ trail to rescue the district head.
Aliyu is said to be the 16th Dodo of Wawa and a PhD holder in Environmental Science from a Malaysian university . He is in the 12th year of his reign.
