Ruler of Borgu Kingdom regains freedom after 7 days

Dr. Mahmud Ahmed, The ruler of the Borgu Kingdom in Niger State, has regained freedom after 7 days in the bandit’s den.

The Niger State Police Command confirmed the development on Saturday.

The Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP. Wasiu Abiodun said that the royal father was rescued on Friday at about 19:30 hours.

He said the rescue mission was carried out by the Police, military, and vigilante.

He said the monarch is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed facility.

Dr. Mahmud Aliyu, the victim, was kidnapped by heavily armed gunmen on Saturday at his palace at about 10 pm.
