The Asiwaju of Orile Imo in Ogun, High Chief Olamilekan Olakunle has given out cars to lower chiefs, to mark his 55th birthday.

He also gifted his community a mosque and empowered women and youths.

Olakunle gave some women sewing machines, hair dryers.

He also gave N50,000 each to some women augment their working capital.

His celebration also coincided with the grand opening of a Hotel and Suites that he built in the community.

Olakunle said there was no other way for him to appreciate God’s blessings other than giving back to the community which he rules over.

“I am elated. What God has done for me, I cannot explain it. God has been very good to me. He brought me from nobody to somebody and that’s why I am celebrating to show gratitude to Him.

“I want to advise individuals to also emulate this by giving back to their society.

“If you have what it takes, contribute to the development of your society and your people will be happy with you,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries of the empowerment, Mrs Ariowoola Folake lauded the gesture.

She said it will go a long way to uplift her business.

“I want to appreciate your sacrifices and help at this time. This money will be ploughed back into my business and I can assure you that those under me will feel the impact of the generosity”, she added.

Meanwhile, Asiwaju Olamilekan is a recipient of many awards.

He is also the Patron of Young Media Practitioners Of Nigeria (YOMPON), South-West Youth Assembly Of Nigeria, (SYAN), amongst others.
