The 6-month intensive skills acquisition programme culminated in the award of Diploma in fashion designing and technology to ten deserving graduates.
Commenting on the occasion, Mrs Nkechi Anene, the principal training manager who also represented the Director General, Industrial Training Fund(ITF) charged the graduate trainees to be good ambassadors of the institute by putting into practice virtually all the skills acquired from the school and its virtues.
She further urged them to immediately put their skills to practical use to further reduce the level of unemployment in the country.
According to Tolu Meduna, the founder of the Cilla Meduna Design Institute, skills acquisition is key to solving unemployment problem in Nigeria.
She also urged the governments not to relent in providing requisite skills through various training programmes to our youth and unemployed segment of the society. Tolu believes this will go a long way in reducing the unemployment figure.
Cilla Meduna Design Institute is situated in Ogba, Lagos and has been partnering with the Industrial Training Fund(ITF) to train Nigerians in skills acquisition in different field of human endeavours.
