Community Leaders and residents in Oworonshoki in Kosofe Local Government of Lagos State held a town hall meeting to support King-Elect in the Oworonshoki Kingdom.
King Kabiru Agbabiaka, the Osolo of Isolo Land in Lagos had said that the families have nominated Nurudeen Saliu as the next Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom.
The community leaders and residents of Oworonshoki on Tuesday assembled at the community playing ground to hold a town hall meeting in support of the Prince.
Chief Taiwo Adio, the Alagbaa of Oworonshoki while given his remarks said that the meeting was held to give total support to Prince Nurudeen Saliu, the next Oloworo of Oworonshoki kingdom.
“We are here to give our support to the next monarch because he has been chosen as the next king of the land that’s why the community leaders and residents are here to give our total support to the chosen king.
Chief Mrs. Muinat Agbabiaka, the Iyalode of Oworonshoki in her remarks urged residents to give support to the incoming king to ensure peace and progress in the land.
Agbabiaka said that all residents are in their full support for the chosen king and prayed that his reign should bring more peace and prosperity to the residents.
Chief Idris Aremu, the Apesin of Oworonshoki land in his address urged the chiefs, community leaders and the residents to cooperate with the incoming king for the benefit of the land.
“We have three religions in the community, Christianity, Islam, and traditionalist and all these religions have agreed and accepted the chosen king all that the community needs now is the full cooperation of the people,” he said.
Alhaji Haruna Ishola, one of the residents in the community also thanked the leaders in the community for holding the town hall meeting to carry the people along about the installation of the new king.
According to him, Prince Nurudeen is the best choice to succeed the late monarch as he is the heir of the royal family.
Alhaja Ganiyat Saliu, a member of the Royal Family in Oworonshoki in her address thanked the residents and the community leaders for the full support given to Prince Nurudeen to become the next king.
Saliu prayed that residents would continue to experience more peaceful coexistence, love and prosperity in Oworonshoki land.
Prince Nurudeen Saliu however assured the residents of Oworonshoki in Lagos State of more infrastructural development in the communities when crowned as the king of the land.
He said that residents and communities would continue to witness more development in Oworonshoki land.
According to him, the late King Bashir Saliu had tried his best in terms of community developments and infrastructure in Oworonshoki land.
“We are going to continue from where he stopped and take it to the greater height.
“We give thanks to God for his life well spent and we believe that the late king has done so well in his life in terms of community development in Oworonshoki.
“By the special grace of God we are taking the community to the greater height where our Oworonshoki will become a megacity and we thank everyone in the community for their support,” he said. (NAN)
