Osinbajo, Ooni to attend foundation laying for Yoruba World Centre

The centre is the brainchild of the International Centre For Yoruba Arts and Culture (INCEYAC)

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are expected to attend the foundation laying of the Yoruba World Centre.

The ceremony will hold at the University of Ibadan on Tuesday, 23 November.

The centre is the brainchild of the International Centre For Yoruba Arts and Culture (INCEYAC)

“I am sincerely glad that you respected children of Yoruba land have decided to institute a centre for the study of our language and culture”, Oba Ogunwusi told an INCEYAC team.

“I am excited. History and posterity will not forget you in a hurry because what you are doing is going to ensure that our culture and tradition are preserved.”

The INCEYAC team was led by the Publisher of Alaroye Newspapers, Mr Alao Adedayo.

Adedayo said the centre, when completed, will document Yoruba records, traditional tools and historical materials.

Also in the INCEYAC team were renowned cinematographer, Tunde Kelani and Dr Adeola Faleye of the Obafemi Awolowo University.
