LCDA Staff Escapes Kidnap Attempt
The Information Officer of Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Mr. Dosu Oluwashina, has alleged that five councillors of the LCDA attempted to kidnap him.
Mr. Dosu who spoke with P.M.NEWS, said the five councillors including attacked him on his way to Owode border around the area. Dosu said he had borrowed a motorcycle from a friend that on the fateful day and was heading towards the area with N150,000 in his pocket.
“When I got to Welcome Junction, I saw a car chasing me. The next thing was that the car cleared me off the road and five people jumped out.
“I noted they were our councillors. One of them put his hands into my pocket and forcefully took my phones and the N150,000 on me.â€
He said they also attempted to throw him into the boot of the car with which they attacked him but he was rescued by people in the area.
The information officer said he later reported the incident at the Seme Border Police Station and added that the councillors admitted to the allegation while being questioned by the police.He said before the alleged action, he never had any issue with the councillors as he was not a politician.
Reacting to the allegation, a councillor, Ibrahim Attah, described it as lies. “It is all fallacy and there is nothing like that,†he said.
