Onigbongbo Obaship Tussle: Appeal Court Adjourns To October 6
The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, South West Nigeria has adjourned the Obaship tussle in Onigbongbo community to 6, October 2011.
Alhaji Taofeek Owolabi Ganiyu had filed an appeal before the court challenging an earlier judgment delivered by a Lagos High Court which insisted that Oba Muniru Olatunji was the rightful candidate to the Onigbongbo throne.
Joined in the suit as respondents are Sumoni Sadiq, Attorney-General of Lagos State, Ikeja Local Government Council and Oba Muniru Olatunji.
At the hearing of the matter on Tuesday, counsel to 1st to 4th respondents, Mr. A.F Ayino informed the court of the demise of the firstt and secondd respondents in the appeal.
His appeal to have the names of the two respondents struck out from the matter was however turned down as the court asked him to follow the appropriate procedure of notifying the court of the demise of his clients.
After the issue was resolved, counsel to the appellant, Mr. A.O Oshuntoye told the court that he was ready to move the application filed by his client on 28 April, 2011.
The court objected to this, saying it will hear the application on 6 October, 2011.
