Falcons Begin Preparation For World Cup

African women champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria, will depart the country for Austria on Wednesday, 25 May, 2011, to commence their preparation for the World Cup finals in Germany.

The NFF revealed that embattled Falcons coach, Eucharia Uche, has been cleared to keep her job, but with serious warning to brace up for the challenges ahead.

The Falcons coach was the main talking point when the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, met in Abuja on Thursday.

“We did not eventually get to meet with her, but we have agreed that some of us will still meet her before the team leave the country early next week,” the NFF said.

“She has to wake up to her responsibilities or she will only have herself to blame for whatever befalls her.”

The team’s performance at the World Cup in Germany will determine her future as coach of the team.

Falcons are drawn in a tough first round group against hosts and defending champions Germany, France and Canada.
