Oba Gabriel Adepoju pardoned by Ajimobi is dead

The Oloko of Oko, Oba Gabriel Adepoju, granted state pardon by former Governor of Oyo Abiola Ajimobi in 2014, has passed away.

The monarch gave his last breath on Sunday.

Until his death, he ruled over Oko Ile town, in Orire Local Government, Oyo State.

Oba Adepoju ascended the throne of his fathers in the year 1997.

The monarch was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2011 over a murder charge after someone was killed in a clash that occurred in a motor park close to his palace.

The monarch claimed innocence of the charge against him but the court found him guilty.

However, the late Ajimobi granted him a state pardon on January 1, 2014.
