No patient died of coronavirus-related complications on Sunday, while 317 patients were discharged.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday registered 22 COVID-19 cases in four states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

NCDC said that the new cases marginally increased total infection to 253,023.

There was a significant decrease in infections, on Sunday, compared with the 89 reported on Saturday.

There was also no COVID-19 related death on Sunday, while 317 patients were discharged.

Death toll stays at 3,135.

Also 229,019 people had been discharged.

According to NCDC, Lagos State led Sunday’s chart with nine new infections, followed by FCT with six.

Delta recorded four cases, Rivers two and Kano State one.

There were zero cases in Bauchi, Bayelsa, Ekiti, Kaduna, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, and Sokoto.

NCDC also explained that the four cases reported in Delta were backlogs from Jan. 28, (3) and Jan. 29, (1).

The latest COVID-19 situation report spanning from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23 shows the number of new infections decreased to 1,258 from 2,617 reported in the second week of the year.
