Makinde chairs Anambra PDP Electoral Committee

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Governor Seyi Makinde as the Chairman of the party’s Electoral Committee for Anambra Ward Congresses.

This is contained in a statement issued on Friday by PDP National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature.

According to the statement, the committee was to elect new Ward Executive Committees and three-man ad-hoc Ward Delegates to the State Congress.

Other nominations approved to serve on the committee, were Mohammed Ashiru as Secretary; Sen. Abdul Ningi, Sen. Atai Idoko, Ms Mildred Ekhator, who are to serve as members.

The exercise is scheduled to hold on Saturday, Feb 19, in all the 326 Wards of the state.

“In the same vein, the NWC has approved the appointment of 63 Electoral Officers whose sole responsibility shall be to conduct the Ward Congresses in their assigned Local Government Areas.

“This is to ensure transparency and strict compliance with the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of Ward Congresses,” the statement said.

All aspirants, leaders and critical stakeholders of the party in the State are advised to take note.
