Fire Guts Leventis Motors

Leventis Motors, a division of AG Leventis Nigeria Plc at Apapa, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, was this morning gutted by fire and valuables worth millions of naira were destroyed.

Although the estimate of the amount lost was not made known by the officials, it was gathered that the affected area was a spare parts section of the company.

The cause of the fire which started at 7.30 am was not known as at the time of filing this report.

The possibility of sabotage was not ruled out, a source at the office told P.M.News.

When P.M.news visited the scene of the incident, men from Lagos State Fire Service were trying to put out the fire as at 12 noon.

Speaking on the incident, the External Relation Manager, Ms Titi Talabi told P.M.News  that the cause of the fire incident could not be ascertained.

She expressed gratitude that no life was lost. She noted that there was severe damage but assured that it will not affect their operations in any way.

Ms Talabi commended the Lagos State Fire Service personnel and prompt response from Nigeria Ports Authority fire fighting team.
