Four policemen and a civilian have been killed by bandits in Kebbi State in a battle to rescue 10 abducted expatriates in the state.

The 10 expatriates were later rescued by the police.

A statement from the Kebbi State Police Command said the 10 expatriates were working in a Tomatoes processing plant in Warra area of Ngaski Local Government Area of the state when they were kidnapped by bandits.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that suspected bandits stormed the Tomatoes Company located in Gafara, close to Warra town, and kidnapped the expatriates who were working in the factory.

While confirming the incident in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, said four police officers and a civilian, however, paid the supreme price.
